What I’m buying this week
Jim Doom:
• Adventure Comics #0 – It’s $1.
• Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds #3 – I hope I remember what happened back in #2. Nice to know that, in some capacity, Final Crisis is going to keep going on for two more months. Fitting that this takes place in the future.
• Immortal Iron Fist – maybe … I dropped this after Brubaker left but recently picked up some back issues, which I enjoyed. This is the beginning of a new arc, so I figure it’s a good opportunity to hop back on.
• Madman: Atomic Comics – maybe … it went up to $3.50.
• The Mighty #1 – It’s the Book of Doom!
• Sandman: The Dream Hunters #4 – I feel better calling this my Best Miniseries of 2008 given that it’s concluding barely into February.
Doom DeLuise:
• Adventure Comics #0 – I’m wondering what they’re going to do to reboot the Legion, considering there are currently three of them playing out in the Legion of 3 Worlds story-arc. Plus, this will be my cheap introduction to “Origins and Omens,” and it’ll make me decide whether or not I want to buy any other ones of these.
• Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds #3 – I’m compelled to find out what’s contained in Brainiac’s lightning rod that he’s been carrying around since the end of the Lightning Saga. I’m not too interested in the mohawked Sodam Yat, but that’s okay. In order to see the rainbow, you have to put up with some rain.
• Mighty #1 – Book of Doom.
• Secret Warriors #1 – I don’t know who’s writing this, and I’m going to base my decision off that tomorrow, on whether or not I pick it up. Nick Fury’s return was my favorite part of Secret Invasion, though, so I might grab it. Marvel’s price points are trying to convince me to give up on the company entirely, though.
• War of Kings: Darkhawk #1 – I’m on the fence on this one. I like Darkhawk, and I loved the War of Kings one-shot, but, for crying out loud, does everything have to be $3.99 these days? I’m broke as a joke! ‘Conomy ate mah job.
If you guys aren’t reading Agents of Atlas, Secret Six or House of Mystery you are missing out!!!
Man, Secret Six was my favorite miniseries a year ago or so, but their ongoing series stinks. I read the first four issues or so and then gave up.
I’m with you on this one Jason. Secret Six has been a great book.
I must be missing something. Is it the midget in the box that’s been good or the banter about eating burritos?
To me.. its the hot, naked female version of Ragdoll. Nothing gets me reved up over comics like woman who’s held together with yarn.
Honestly, I love the villian point of view. We know there will be double crosses, and backstabs, but I get to the point where I like these characters and am actually hurt when they break their “thieves” code.
I may be looking ta it with rose colored glasses, but I was suprised that I liked characters like BANE??? Him sitting there taking a beating because he has a crush on their team leader, and want to protect her.
I guess when i put it to words, it sounds stupid… but I look forward to this book each month, and I didn’t want to collect this. But I have to know what happens.
