If done properly, Marvel’s looking at several potentially huge cash cows. A big part of that has to do with keeping the same stars for their crossover properties. Would the ending of The Incredible Hulk been anywhere near as cool if some Robert Downey Jr look-alike appeared instead of the man himself?
Nope.
They already dropped the ball with Don Cheadle replacing Terrance Howard. Bear in mind, I like Don Cheadle. But the whole appeal of crossing over your movies is that they have the same actors, consistently. Any alterations cheapen the whole goddamn thing.
