Justified and ancient

I tell you, it’s a good thing that Ganthet and Sayd were kicked out of Oa. The other guardians were right – these two have let their emotions go to their heads.
They’ve been letting their love of earth people cloud their judgment, interfering with their impartiality.
from Green Lantern #24
I mean, after all, nothing betrays emotional impartiality like love of a sports team.
And nothing pulls you out of a Green Lantern story like a Michigan logo on a power battery.
Considering the fact that it isn’t green, one can assume at the very least that colorist Moose Baumann feels he has a decent amount of job security.
From what I’ve read, somewhere, that’s probably Guy’s battery, since he’s a Michigan alum, and I could see him slapping a sticker that says so on his power battery.
You’re right; that could take a reader out of the flow of the story, though I would have missed it the first time through if I’d read the issue.
Well that would make a whole lot of sense if that’s why it was on there.
Yeah, i think in Booster Gold #2 Guy is shown as a M State fan/alum.
And he’s just the kind of dude that would show his school spirit on a power battery. Immediately when i read that, i thought “that must be Guy’s battery.”
It could have been worse, though. They could have put a black power fist on Stewart’s.
Too bad Michigan sucks and Guy Gardner is a moron.
Yea, the first thing I thought when I saw that sticker was “heh, that is totally Guy’s Power Battery”… Then, I was reminded why Guy Gardner annoys the hell out of me…
That might be the most obscure comics reference I’ve seen in awhile.
I’m surprised that made it into a Geoff Johns book, since he’s a Michigan State alum.
