A late Christmas present

While looking for the new trailer for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (which looks surprisingly decent), I went to You Tube and had the stunning fortune of finding the entirety of Roger Corman’s 1994 attempt at the first family.
The flick, in ten easy pieces:
Awesome!
I actually have a copy of this on VHS that I bought at Gencon years ago (back when it was still in Milwaukee). Not bad, for the budget.
Man, that annoys me that Fantastic Four get a sequel but Daredevil doesn’t.
I wonder if someone’s been fantasizing about a Silver Surfer movie ever since Terminator 2 came out.
So does Galactus play a role in this, or have they just re-characterized the Surfer’s purpose for the sake of movies?
I think the rumor is that the Surfer is the main villain here and that it will leads to a third movie in which they fight Galactus. Which makes sense in the world of trilogies.
Has anyone here actually seen FF 1? I never got around to watching it. (I also still need to see DD’s director cut)
I had similar feelings to FF 1 as I did to the DD theatrical version: it was a fun, mindless movie. Not as good as the X movies and nowhere near the depth of the Spider-Man movies.
The characterization of the Fantastic Four was spot on. Reed, Sue, Ben and especially Johnny were the characters from the comics come to life. Not so much for Doom. The story wasn’t that great either. I thought it was better than DD, probably somewhere a little below X3.
X3? Sounds like a movie that I’m pretending doesn’t exist.
